Media portal is supposed to be very nice, if you can get it configured right I never had any luck with it and went the SageTV route and honestly havent looked back. Most importantly, if you are already using MyMovies for WMC there is nothing extra that you need to do, just import the MyMovies stvi into SageTV (when available of course) and you are good to go. What exactly does this mean? Well, all the functionality you get with MyMovies in WMC you will get with SageTV, including using Collection Management to gather all your metadata, dynamic filtering, some of the neat customizations I highlighted here, the list goes on.

Though WMC is going to fade away at some point, though I got Schedules Direct set up with WMC and SageTV so their going to be around a bit longer.Windows Media Center users have been enjoying MyMovies for many years with many other media centerВ platforms being left out in the cold. it really is a great client for all my stuff. The nice thing is that my Xbox360 runs WMC extender, Plex, Netflix, Amazon Video, Vudu, and Hulu. I'm using Windows Media Center with my HDHR Prime since it supports cablecard encrypted channels. Tested to work on the HD100 and HD200 Extenders. I'm running the open source version 9 and just discovered the SageTV mini client runs on the FireTV.
